I spent a few odd days there now and again. My mate Gilly spent quite a lot of time there.

Does anyone remember SassyWitch who used to post on the old C4? She was a Greenham Common woman too

 

Well done to all of them. The Murdoch Press and the Thatcher Government conducted the most shameful campaign against them. Those woman made me proud and sowed the seeds for a lot of campaigns that came after.

I remenber sassywitch .............one helluva character - i really miss Ch 4 News forum ............anyone remember Lucien Deville? I got banned more than once retaliating!

I knew a couple of people who spent a lot of time there. I remember their story of the 'arms race' between the women and the air base guys. The women would chain themselves to the gate with bigger and bigger padlocks and the air force would have to get bigger bolt cutters each time!

I actually entered the base in the early 90's with my dad who was doing some building work there.
