I don't think the teleshopping broadcasts are run by Channel 5, rather they've sub-let their broadcasting space to these advertising programs.  Therefore kicking these people off their slot which they've probably contracted wouldn't be so straight forward.

However, that shouldn't stop them from showing a few hours BEFORE the teleshopping takes over.  Or of course, there was always the option to sell streaming via the internet, such as Ch4 did last year.

There were options available, but kicking the teleshopping broadcasters off their slot wasn't an option.

The internet then I would have gladly paid for that .

Last night I quite enjoyed the launch and wanted to watch the live feed straight after the main show finished.

This morning it's very strange not to have any news stories and comments on here, on DS etc about the HMs first night, there are usually loads of snippets. I'm not going on the official facebook-saturated site.

It's all about money, isn't it? They don't want to spend on the live feed and would rather get likes on Facebook and ad revenue from the website when they get fans to click on things.

I am already suspicious about what they're not telling us about what might be going on in the house..........this isn't Big Brother, it's more like IACGMOOH.

If the 'normal' BB doesn't have live feed, I might not bother with it, because how are we supposed to get to know these people if we can't watch them, Big Brother style?! It makes me laugh. The original concept of the show isn't being respected.

Katerina

it's the THIS IS NOT BB SHOW..

tried to watch the show that followed, turned off.. it was rubbish..

as was mentioned. .it's more like IACGMOOH..

we need to see them wake up with bed hair and no make up.. doing the shopping lists... [as much as I hated LUTting those ] preparing for tasks. .gossiping in corners... trying to cook..  seeing who contributes what to the running of the house...   it's just not BB.. it's crap

and what a dreadful crowd.. not one even remotely interesting person..

tho there is a bit of slightly older totty but he'll probably turn out to be a plank..

Agree

They really have no clue, they should have had the live feed. It would make all the difference. The difference being, it would be more like a Big Brother Show.

I said this on the facebook page last night, this might as well be I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Indoors. They've taken away what separated BB from every other reality TV show... the ability to watch it live 24 hours a day.

I'm all for the 'NO LIVE FEED = NO VOTING' campaign. Surely if enough people don't vote, they'd have to reconsider it at least for when the main series starts.

Crunchy Nuts

I've watched it from BB1...I can probably count on my fingers, (and possibly a few toes?) the number of times I've watched lf....Thing is, most 'busy' people just don't have the time. I don't mean that as any disrespect at all to those who do, q the opposite, I'm grateful for the LUTers, BUT, the no. of people who can watch endless hours of lf must be in the minority?

FM

I miss the weekends when I used to have it on in the background in the day..

I don;t understand how it could have kept anybody's interest with 13 weeks of just a HL show.. except perhaps that those with LF used to update via threads or the LUT when anything exciting went on.  and people would maybe tune in to watch the LF if they didn't have it on... .now for me it's turned into any other reality show where they usually get just the one thread on here as people watch the HL's every night... chat about that then move on.. . which is ok if that floats your boat  but, it just isn't Big Brother as I know it.. .should have been renamed..

as for the spin off show. .managed half an hour first night,  and ten minutes last night .. truly  dreadful .. had hoped it would show a bit more than the HL's just so I could get a feel for the house.. ain't happening tho ..

Nice to watch a few hours in the evening before bed, though. That is what is missing for me.

That's what I used to do too, Spidermonkey.

And sometimes if I had the day off work and they were doing a task, I'd tune in while I had my lunch.

The shopping list clashes were entertaining as well. (still remember Carole 'oh not the facking piccalilli!!)

I cant, and don't want to watch endless hours of it, I just want it to be there because someone's going to be watching it, and documenting what's going on. That's why it's called Big Brother - they should be being watched by us, not just the directors and producers.

Good point Katerina,I kinda relied on others telling me what had been going on, (via this forum,)....now, anything could be happening and we just wouldn't know.

But it's nice having the opportunity to pop in and out at odd times of the day and night, just to see if there's a good row brewing
