My mum gave me ÂĢ50 for my 18th birthday. She said "buy yourself something nice". I got a tattoo of a black panther on my right shoulder. It cost ÂĢ20 so a week later I got an eagle on my ankle and a week after that I got a Pegasus on my lower back. 6 years ago I got a chinese tattoo of a cats eye on my left wrist and last year at T in the Park I got the word DAD tattooed across the back of my neck because he died 7 weeks before. The one thing that always sticks in my mind though is the guy who tattooed me first saying "NEVER get a mans name, a football team or a band on your body"........I never did.
I am planning getting a vine down my spine with all my loved ones initials on it though
I was in England recently and saw a tattoo on my friend, i was shocked..she explained she designed it herself and what each bit meant..it just looked a mess to me......my son has a cleft musical note on his thumb..he's a DJ..but that looks nice....
Yeuchhh, that is ugly. And I say so, even as a fellow tattoo owner
It's all personal taste though. When I look at my tattoos I think they're beautiful. I get comments all the time about how I'll regret it when I'm a pensioner. I disagree...I'll look back and think of the good times I had when I was younger. What I see as ugly tattoos the person who has them thinks are beautiful. I call it body art and art is a very broad range of things which some people love and some hate
Cags, I have a butterfly on my shoulder. I had it done during Notting Hill Carnival 1988 and I still love it. But it's not some ugly bloke's face...

It's not you who has to live with it and see it every day though. What is ugly? Is it the same thing as I see as ugly? Probably not and that's all done to personal taste.

Butterflies aren't ugly. I'd never have anyone's face tattooed on me, even if they were a blood relative.

I never said butterflies were ugly. I'd get someone's face tattooed on me. I'd get my baby boys. Why? Just because I can and it's my body. Tattoos are so personal...well they are to me. Some people get them for the sake of getting them.
i got mine because I was 22 and at my first Notting Hill Carnival
If I have another one, it'll be Hokusai's Great Wave, because I love the artwork

Admittedly, it's not bad.... why you would want her on your skin is beyond me though

Palin interesting!
Im going to get a tattoo of a cupcake on my bum. I want it to be somewhere that i know its there and can flash it when appropriate but that i can still wear whatever i want without it showing.

Thats true, there are lots of tattoos that I would consider ugly but i'm sure the person who has it loves it, and thats all that matters really You're right, its all very subjective

Oh, I have one on my bum Not a cupcake, a tattoo. And a winged heart with horns on my back. Tis nice.
I think that Keith Lemon one is kind of awsum. It make-a me smile.
This reminds me of the story of a bride who wanted a butterfly tattooed on each buttock as a surprise for her new husband. The tattooist apologised and said he was rubbish at butterflies but very good at bees.
She decided to go with it and on her wedding night she undressed and bent over - her husband said 'Who's Bob?'
