CALLING ALL VEGGIES - or anyone who can help

So . . .

When i was in Canada there was fast food kiosks in the street selling veggie hotdog sausages.

They were more like meati-fied jobbies rather than those slimy mush-formed shiney things we get in cans, ok

They were scrummy - and i want some

Does anyone know if there are sites that cater for this type of thing - maybe import or specialist sites?

I miss those nom nom nom delights

TofurkyÂŪ Gourmet Sausages

Until now, the backyard barbeque has primarily been the domain of the carnivore. While the past 20 years have seen great meat alternatives introduced that cook fine in the microwave, nearly all fall short when placed on a hot outdoor grill. Some tofu wieners even say "Not recommended for barbeques."

We've taken our famous TofurkyÂŪ Roast and turned it into three old world sausage flavors:

  • Kielbasa
  • Beer Brats
  • Sweet Italian with Tomato and Basil

Unlike the smaller dogs on the street, these dogs are not made from soy powders or concentrates. Real tofu is our soy protein!

Rated the number one best selling brand of meatless sausages in the USA, we’re proud to offer a vegetarian sausage that SIZZLES on an outdoor grill OR cooks in the comfort of the kitchen.

TofurkyÂŪ Beer Brats

TofurkyÂŪ Beer Brats are the first vegetarian meat substitute designed to cook both in the comfort of your kitchen and outside on your grill!

These Big Dogs actually SIZZLE on the grill and really fill out a bun with mustard and sauerkraut.

Made with microbrewed Full Sail Ale and real tofu, not Hexane Extracted Soy Isolates or powder. Our Beer Brats are certified vegan, satisfying and delicious.

TofurkyÂŪ Italian Sausage

The number one selling item in veggie sausage, this classic Italian sausage is as versatile as your imagination.

You can enjoy it on a bun with peppers and onions, sliced into spaghetti sauce or grilled on the barbecue. It can add zip to your favorite lasagna or a real heartiness to any soup recipe.

The great taste of sun-dried tomatoes and basil gives this sausage a wonderful, slightly sweet taste.

TofurkyÂŪ Kielbasa

“Kielbasa” is the Polish word for sausage, and for many homes with Eastern European lineage, kielbasa is a staple. Traditionally Kielbasa is served with red cabbage, potatoes or sauerkraut, either by itself or on a bun; this is a sausage rich in flavor and history. Our meatless Kielbasa carries on the tradition by enhancing each sausage with the perfect blend of fresh onion and garlic.

Chop chunks of this delightfully seasoned sausage for use in your own soups, stews, stir fries or casseroles to add a delicious high protein chew to your life.

I remember having vegetarian "bacon" years ago.  It was like pig flavoured bubblegum.

I used to buy the morningstar farms one.. then they withdrew it from sale in the UK cause of the GM content. Healthy eating, eh ?

Its not that i'm looking for meat tasting things only that this is a tasty treat and us veggies always need variety

There are several Linda McCartney things that taste too close to the mark for me and so i won't eat them

Most veggie meat things are not like meat at all - so the similarities are vague
