yeah...   it don't work doing that.

I went on strike once...  I was so fed up with the perpetual ground hog day of cleaning up after them all.

It was over a week before they noticed      And 2 weeks later the house looked like a travellers site...  & it was me that gave in and set to work cleaning it.

I'll not do it again!       It wasn't like I enjoyed not cleaning up after them for the fortnight..   It was soul destroying watching everything get trashed... & them not even notice

I fight dirty now...      I have warned the kids that dirty plates etc found in their rooms will be dumped in their beds.

Empty jars, bottles or packets, put back into the cupboards instead of the bin will mean that there will be no marg in their sandwich..    or ketchup on their plate etc.

if it were bathroom mess..    then I would be refusing them the use of clean towels..

All the bloody time   My OH takes a newspaper into the loo with him, I see him going in and say 'Don't forget to bring it out'.  He leaves it there, says he's not done readin it.  So I let it stay there for a few hours.  Then next day I'll see that there's another paper in there.  This happens no matter how many times I take the newspapers out, he brings them in again so I decided not to lift them and see how long it took for him to do it. He didn't.  I tried to get in one day and the door would barely open (tiniest loo ever, cant even open the door when ur sitting on the loo) coz he had 6 papers in there!!  Not even folded properly either so they were all over the floor   It's the one thing that drives me insane.....that and not putting the cardboard from the looroll into the fecking bin....THATS AT HIS ARSE fgs!

I'm really, really good at living in a mess, so I win most battles of will in our house.

If clothes aren't put in the laundry basket, they don't get washed.

They soon learn, when they really wanted to wear something, and find it dirty and screwed up in the heap on their floor.

The latest one is Mr Blizz thinking he doesn't need to bring mugs and glasses down from our bedroom. The record was about six of each, which he actually managed to pick up and transport to the kitchen.

I have had enough of cleaning up after everyone as no one else gives a shit about the house or lifts a finger to help I too have tried the silent strike thing (only on the cleaning side) and no one cared, got to the point where there wasnt a clean item in the wardrobs/kitchen so i had to give in and get to work putting it right but atm its REALLY getting me down, i just cant keep it tidy for more than 5 mins

The arguments in here about who actually made the mess are ridiculous   I know I'm responsible for any mess in my bedroom which is really only clothes coz I don't allow anyone to eat, drink smoke or even BE in there so it's an easy enough mess to make and tidy.  The rest of the rooms are specific to others tho....the toilet and bathroom are the boyfriends, the kids rooms are the kids, the kitchen is also boyfriends mess coz he doesnt put anything back in the fridge or cupboard and the living room mess is the kids.  None of it is my mess.....how could it be?  I'm on my pooter all day and haven't touched anything?

Oh and while I'm ranting.....the summer break is going to be a nightmare because I'm used to getting up and cleaning the house and it will stay like that until the kids come home from school then it slowly descends into chaos again.  Now that they're off on Thursday (for 9 whole weeks ffs) it'll be more messy no matter how many times I clean coz they pull things out when playing and never put them back.

I've got myself into a while tizzy writing all that
