I can't understand that either.  It always really irritates me when I see children dressed identically - why don't let parents allow them to have some individuality?  Apart from that, they look ridiculous.  It's like the concept of dressing girls in pink and boys in blue - why?  My daughter had a lovely bright blue coat when she was tiny, and I couldn't count the number of times people assumed she was a boy because of what she was wearing.

The whole thing is though ....................when our kids are very small we choose what we like - not what they like. I guess if you've got four of the same age you just pick out four of everything that you like.

I watched the Waltons sextuplets last week - they were never dressed the same. I think they just went through the rails and picked out a variety for the same age - I doubt very much that a particular outfit was assigned to a particular child though .................FGS how hard would that be? Surely you'd just grab an outfit and put it on the child who was nearest at hand! Getting 6 (or 4) kids dressed every morning - surely you just do what you do in the time restraints.

It's all very well letting the girls choose their own outfits for their fifth birthday but ......................imagine the shopping trips where they are free to choose everything

I think having four young children must be the closest possible thing to hell!  But my daughter had strong views on the clothes she liked and didn't like from a very young age.  Within reason, she was choosing her own clothes by the time she was three, so I don't think that I really got the opportunity to dress her in the things I liked after this age, unless she liked them too.

Well imagine if you had four of them doing that! i had three kids under four - I cannot comprehend shopping trips letting them choose their own.

I had a discussion tonight, with my 14 year old. There was a photo of her at about the age of three and she tried to admonish me for putting her in that outfit. I told her that she chose her own clothes.

That shut her up!
