OMG  my worst nightmare 

What a terrible story.

We used to laugh at my late grandmother (who was claustrophobic), when she used to ask us if we would stab her with a huuuuuuuge hatpin once she had passed away - to make absolutely certain she was really dead. (We didn't, in case you were wondering).

Doesn't seem such a ridiculous request now that I've read that story.

But wouldn't she have died anyway during the embalming process? 

I have read a few of the same kind of stories over the years it is very scarey and could not imagine how this is affecting the family ..terrible lasting memory for them..

I read somewhere a long time ago that when they had to re-locate a graveyard about 25% of the coffins had scratch marks under the lid which is why some Victorians used to have a bell on their grave with a the string tied around their wrist so they could literally 'be saved by the bell'.

I can understand mistakes in the victorian time etc but now adays you just don't expect a huge mistake like that, would hate to be in the doctor who pronounced her dead's shoes!

Well she couldn't have been embalmed because your blood is drained and replaced with formaldyhide.

That's scary!  I think the hatpin idea might be talked about in my house now......awful to think that could actually happen.

I won't tell you about the story of the elderly lady who died in her home full of cats then

Jeez can you imagine if she came to in the crematorium in the furnace....shudders!

That reminds me of an episode of "Messiah", where a journalist was bound and gagged and put into a coffin (with her dead brother) and cremated.

No, it was very sad

Exactly! Surely people that are laid out to rest are embalmed because they decay so fast?

The hospital dont deny the story.

A shocking story. Hope they find out how this happened.
