Ohhh, Jeremy Vine had a whole section on moths yesterday ... did you know it is illegal to sell mothballs in this country nowadays?
Oh god!
I knew there was a reason I was boiling my ass off with all the windows shut
aw i like moths, they are all vintage looking, they remind me of old lace and Miss Havishams house.
And that's a good thing?

the woman who'd been looking for mothballs for months was a wee bit miffed !! I thought she'd never shut up - he had to cut her off in the end

Harmless softies. Unless they're a wasp in a fur coat.

I heard part of that show, but I didn't know that. I love Jeremy Vine, some of his callers are hilarious.
That reminded me. I found a bee buzzing on it's back on my kitchen floor the other day. I tried to shove it on a piece of paper so I could put it outside, my boy dog decided to try to eat it at that very moment. It obviously stung his mouth, as he spat it right back out and ran around the kitchen shaking his head from side to side.
Lesson to be learned. Not everything is for eating
yeah... what is the point of them?
and they are seriously ugly close up (never point a camera with a zoom lens at one... they are gross)
Yeah- at least moths pollinate some flowers ( but they are buggers when they suddenly fly out at you unexpectedly) unlike wasps which seem to have no purpose here only to aggravate and sting you. Anyone know any benefits of wasps?
Yes, indeed.
Apart from letting their kids eat my carpet!

I don't mind moths. I can catch them and put them outside - no problem!

Moths are in decline, they are an important indicator of the stateof our countrys biodiversity etc.
Unless they're a wasp in a fur coat.

Back on the farm, I like moths, the only thing I hate with a passion is spiders.
