I went to the doc's yesterday, and as I thought, it was shingles. She said we've caught it in time to be treated, so has prescribed some tablets which hopefully will sort it out.

It's been very painful, and very itchy. I've lost my appetite (which is a good thing!) and I'm not sleeping well.

But in the great scheme of things, it's nothing. At least it will get better.

Thanks for all your nice comments and best wishes. xx

I'm glad you came back & let us know Jen..    I was wondering how you got on.

Do you know how soon the tablets will kick in?

I'll pop back in later..    I am Surrey bound now (dropping daughter off at school for the rest of the week for her exams)..   but I will be back this evening.

Take it easy...   keep putting those wet flannels on your sore bits

Hi Ditty. No, Doc didn't say when they would start helping. Since I went to her, I've still been developing new rashes. The tablets haven't had any noticeable effect yet, but I'm hoping they are working in the background at least!  I guess it doesn't help that I already have a suppressed immune system due to the treatment for RA, maybe that's why I succumbed to it in the first place.

I'm dabbing calamine lotion on the blisters, and that helps for a few minutes. The cool compresses help the irritation too. But nowt is helping the pain much, which seems to sweep in and out. At least it's not perpetual!

Hope your journey to Surrey went ok, and you're back home safely.
