The Aegon Championship final between British number one Andy Murray and French fifth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at Queen's has been held up by rain.

Mindful of a forecast of prolonged rain in W14 on Sunday afternoon, tournament directors brought the final start time forward from 1430 to 1200 BST.

Morning showers prevented an on-time start, but officials are still hopeful of play at some point on Sunday.

Should that not be possible, the final will be on Monday at 1230 BST.

"The good thing about the British is that we have a sense of humour when it comes to the weather," tournament director Chris Kermode told BBC One.

"We've been told that we have a window of opportunity to play later this afternoon and we will wait as long as we can. We intend to play today.

"We might not wait until a 1900 BST start, for example, out of respect for the players, but we'll delay it as long as we can. We're talking to the players at half-hourly intervals.

"If we don't get any play today, though, the final will be at 1230 BST on Monday and we're finalising contingency plans as we speak."

Aww, it doesn't look good does it.

Not looking good at all. Most of anyone who was interested will probably miss it' cos even if they get some play today there's a strong possibility that it won't be finished today and will have to go into tomorrow - when we''l be at work.

Looks like there might be a bit of play today after all. They seem to be preparing the court.

I'm watching the GP too. This is going to be interesting, the teams don't have much testing info on the tyres and their strategy is rather uncertain now because of the rain!

It's official. No play today.

Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will return to Queen's Club on Monday after the final was washed out for only the third time in the tournament's history on Sunday.

Didn't think there would be play after looking at the weather forecast for London today.

Oh well - will have to record it whilst I'm at work and try my best to not hear the result

If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I'd be on my way to Queen's Club to get a £10 ticket for the final!

Lucky you. If I tried that it would be all over by the time I got there, unless I'd taken the overmight train.

Apparently there were people queuing from 2am and there were likely to be 1700 (or was it 17000?) to pack in.

All I'll say for the moment is that it was a good match.

Saw a glimpse of the final on the news.  Am I mistaken or is young master Murray starting to get a bit thin on top? 

Can't say I was paying much attention to his hair.
