I've no idea whether this is the real reason for Cheryl Cole being sacked, but I certainly wouldn't describe her accent as mild.  I would imagine that a large proportion of people in the USA have probably not come across someone with a Geordie accent before and would find her hard to understand.

Yes ....................I struggle with a really strong Geordie accent - although Cheryl's isn't reeeeaaly strong - I can imagine it's not too easy for a US audience to understand - perhaps they've also missed out on her supposed charisma ............I can understand that too as it's gone completely over my head as well.

I've heard of someone with a strong Geordie accent being mistaken for Jamaican in the US

I'm not sure the words 'charisma' and 'Cheryl Cole' really belong in the same sentence!

Yes they do but ..............on a popular prime time TV show - I think they're entitled to not struggle with an accent that they find hars to understand - especially if she really doesn't bring much expertise knowledge to the whole thing. A pretty (subjective) face sometimes isn't enough.

I think it's mad because nobody in america had really heard Chezza speak anyway    Only the producers and the bloody contestants.  And the producers had seen and heard her many times already, otherwise they wouldnt have given her the job.  And if it was down to the contestants, then that is bullshit, because let's face it, half the 'talent show' contestants (there AND here,) are as thick as eff and probably couldn't understand most people who aren't rednecks or chavs.  So i think its nowt to do with the accent.

Chezza's accent is not strong at all, so I think there IS more to it than meets the eye... I think that the americans simply arent interested in ANYbody British over there, unless they have a 'Queen's English' accent, a-la Kate Winslett.  Even Cat Deeley had to polish her brummie accent, and now theres no HINT of it.  If youre a brummie or a scouse or a geordie, etc, you have NO chance in america.  Bet it's brought Chezza down to earth with a bump though and made her realise she is not that special: she is just a fairly pretty girl with very little talent who got lucky, and in america you need more than a fairly pretty face and an average talent to make it.

Nicole shitsinger though ?    She has to be the most annoying and dull and tedious judge EVER!  She really got on my tits on x factor UK last year, with her banal blathering and getting up and boogeying like some drunken twat at a wedding during every bloody show!  And how convenient that Nicole just happened to be there, and just happened to have a free schedule for the next 4 to 6 months...    I don't believe they intended to use her for a 'compere;' she would have been rubbish!   I shannae be watching!

You're very loyal Crunchy...I'm in the minority here but I like Cheryl and I think there could be  some truth  re-Paula Abdul but who knows and it must  be humiliating for Cheryl.. It would have been better her not getting the job than this happening.

I imagine a few people over there had their nose pushed out

She has been  criticised for not showing enough leg from Simon, for sitting next to Simon, for not being Paula Abdul basically.

I would have told them where to stick it.

I like it!

Yes indeed

How about we compromise and send her to australia

As long as she spends all her time on bondi beach in a bikini getting pap'd, that's fine by me

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are "in talks" about Cole's X Factor USA future, Cowell's ex-girlfriend Sinitta claims.

After suggesting that Cole's departure from the show is far from confirmed, the 'So Macho' singer told Daybreak on ITV1 that the Girls Aloud star has Cowell's full backing

Sinitta said: "There is something going on. All I can say is Simon and Cheryl are very close and I believe they are in talks to try and sort something out. As soon as they agree on something then we will hear about it.

"They are having private conversations. Simon really, really wanted Cheryl on the American show. He really fought to have her there."

She continued: "They are talking and they are working on something that they will agree on. Simon was 100% behind Cheryl and I am sure that very, very soon, maybe today, we will find out what that decision will be.

"When I spoke to Simon a few weeks ago all he spoke about was how well it was going and how much he was enjoying the show."

Sinitta added: "Personally if she is not going to be on the American show then it would be great to have her back here - I know that's what her fans want."

Radio 2 are having a "cheer up Cheryl!" day! I can't help but think that they missed a trick in the states. 'memba how gangster rap caught on over here? We had lots if spotty arseholes going round pretending they were er, in the hood or summat? Mebbees top right speak would of/have/'ave become popular in the states. Just think! If he had lasted GSH could a done a new one. Wor revolution will not be on the tellybox mind! It will not be sponsored by Greggs the bakaz, Scottish and newkie brewaz, nor petah vordie though.

Absolutely nothing wrong with her figure in my opinion. If she's happy with the way she looks that's all that should matter. She's better off away from them dick heads.

Her weight is fine and she certainly doesn't need to lose two stone.

They are so used to size zero, lollipop head women over there, that's the problem.
