For those who live in the UK, this is a massive moneysaver....  I got told about it by someone about half a year back, because I had made LOADS of calls to tax credits, the gas board, the insurance company and all sorts during this one month...., and I had £45 of calls!   Basically, it gives you alternative 'landline' numbers to the 0870 and 0845 type numbers... which are MUCH cheaper, and free if you have a 'tariff..'

I pay £6.99 for unlimited landline calls, (with Virgin media,) as long as they are 59 minutes or less, which they always are to be honest...  But it doesnt include the bloody 0845 and 0870 numbers,,, so my bills were whopping sometimes.  SO if you find alternative numbers, you can really save the pennies...

Before September, my bill for Virgin which *should* be £55 for the internet for everyone in the family, satellite tv, including all but sports, and the phone, PLUS calls, was averaging £80... and was sometimes up to £90, because of these numbers, (and I know they are a pain for most people....... )  But since September, it has not been more than £59!  And that was only for a few mobile calls.  Because I found the alternative numbers on saynoto0870!

So I really recommend checking this out, especially when you call tax credits as you CAN wait for 20 to 30 minutes!  AND also if you want to call disability or incapacity or child benefit or ANYthing similar that keeps you waiting AGES, (and is an 0845/0870 type number,) you can save a mint.

Thanks a lot hun, I have used this site before as it was featured on the MoneySavingExpert website but it's good to spread the word.

It's shocking that some government agencies and the NHS etc use these numbers. They're just making money from people that are paying for them in the first place

I always use Google to find a non premium number, as we too pay for 'free' landline use, up to 59 minutes and I refuse to pay more.

Not sure if it was the site you linked to, but the numbers are out there, somewhere.
