she can't back claim... well she can't claim anything for the times it was published before she had been recognised as claiming it. From here on in though, yes... whenever it is published she can claim a royalty. Its not a lot of money... its usually a one off payment per print run. (somewhere in the region of ÂĢ50) ...
for her its definitely about the recognition.. but times are tough at the moment (as they are for everyone... so the money won't be turned down - though she has already waived royalty money for a couple of educational books).
she's written some more in the same style & theme (& length).. and I am just starting to illustrate them for her... she is hoping to get them all published as a small kids book (a board book) under the title of "If you should meet a..."

I've just been child minding my grandchildren and asked the oldest if she knew the poem and she did
I have to add my heartfelt congratulations to the little 12 year old girl that had such talent and individuality, to which many of us would love to aspire.
That poem breathes genius. Tis a shame the recognition has been so long coming as so much missed when needed.
