Just watched footage of the guy trying ,to no avail ,to get home but was constantly directed back to where the protesters had gathered.

Footage was also shown of the same Police Officer knocking a BBC camera man to the ground, prior to him pushing Mr Tomlinson..

Police spokesperson said that CPS will be looking at the case again.

The police officer had previously left the force before other disciplinary proceedings started about his alleged aggressive manner. He retired on medical grounds then rejoined the police a few years later.

Hmmm - it's interesting to see how the footage on the news today has afew omissions - particularly the part where Mr Tomlinson almost back-kicked a police dog and was clearly walking with a very slow cocky almost goading stance.  I'm not commenting on the use of force of the officer for a number of reasons - mainly because I have never been in a situation like that and could never understand the stress those officers were put under that day - however Mr Tomlinsonn was not completely innocent in this situation.

This was a violent attack on a defenceless man.

Like I said I'm not commenting on the force used by the police - merely stating that this was not a completely innocent bystander as the media are now trying to suggest.

What exactly do you think he did wrong. He was trying to get home having been turned back by the police multiple times. He was getting tried of it. He was walking away with his hands in his pockets, was no threat and got whacked with a baton and then pushed to the floor.

What was the purpose of the push it just meant it took him longer to move as he had to get himself right and get up. Could he have moved faster maybe but not everyone can move fast.

Was hitting him with a baton and pushing him to the floor wish such force, reasonable force for the situation? doesn't look like it. Why didn't police help him up and why did they lie about protesters impeding his medical treatment.

have a look a the video

Hmmm, interestingly his walk has also been described in the following way - "There were repeated references at the inquest to Mr Tomlinson's walk - a nervous, shuffling gait that was conspicuous for all its intended unobtrusiveness."

It seems you perceived it the same way as PC Harwood, whose job it was to protect the public, not hit and shove them, for walking too slowly.
