Without wanting to inform you of every movement and fart of my life....I had a right result today!!

Got a cat scratch post from pets at home this morning....got it home later and put it together and broke one of the post bits anyway, phoned pets at home to say it was "faulty" and they said no problem, bring back the faulty bit (not the whole thing) and we will replace the bit....

Anyway, got to pets at home, went in with the receipt, and the girl on the checkout gave me a whole new thing I failed to say it was only the one little post we needed and left the store with the whole box!!

The little baybee kittens now have the best part of TWO scratch posts already!! (without the mental size one that is being planned to be built upstairs)

ANYWAY...what bargains, or similar situations have you had and with which stores?

Pets at home are a bit thick!

(as an aside, I also raided Halfords bins today to nick some thick cardboard tube for the rabbits )

I was once underpaid £60 by a cash machine..,I asked for £200 and got £140 but the receipt said I'd had £200. Went straight into the bank (it was the Woolwich before they merged with Barclays or whoever) and had to fill in a form cos they had to check the cashpoint and said if it was out at the end of the day I'd be refunded. It must have been well out cos they refunded me the whole £200!

Years ago we had a £1600.00 Capital Gains tax bill. We paid by cheque and requested a receipt which came through the post. The cheque wa never cashed. Now that really is a result IMO.

Sky recently waived our £60 call out charge because I was more than a little bit angry when I phoned to complain.

Not really that proud of myself but it did the trick

They also threw in two new remote controls.

I was once given £5 too much coins when I went to the bank to change petty cash money at work. (Cashier weighed the money too)        I gave it back though and they hadn't realised they were short

I got £50 off my next phone bill with TalkTalk because I sent them an email telling them how unhappy I was with their service (I was a new customer) once my bill came out not only had they credited £50 but gave me free line rental for 6 months aswell

I wanted a top in NEXT but ended up not buying it coz £40 for one top was a bit too much for me so I went on Ebay and found the exact one brand new with tags which I won for £7.  But when I received it I didn't like it and shoved it in the drawer.  A few months later I put it back on ebay and it sold for £37   I felt bad about that though.....although not bad enough to refund the buyer anything but she left great feedback and was happy enough.

It has to be done Miss S otherwise I'd have a house full of crap   I've got a whole stack of shoes that have to go.....bought because they look lovely but never been out the front door because they're too high for me   I'm waiting a few weeks aswell as I've only just got 2 pairs off ebay this week so don't want the original seller seeing me re-sell

I went to the Building Society to pay in a cheque for £200and draw out £150 at the same time. The cheque went in, the cashier gave me the £150 and the £200 for the cheque but only took £150 off the account.. I walked out counted the money, walked another 10 yards but my damb sense of fair play clicked into gear, turned me round and frog marched me back to hand it back in

my honest nature (mostly   would see me do the same, back in the late 70's i found a £5 note at a checkout - i gave it to the woman on the till and when my mum went in the shop later that day and asked if it was returned to the right customer it was only to find out that thewoman on the till had pocketed it herself!!!!!!!!!          on the subject of bargains i haggled a carpet from £515 to £450 and an upgrade on the (free) underlay!

I have more bargains.

Went to the local British Heart foundation charity shop today and picked up 2 bedside chest of drawers plus another full size chest of drawer - all matching.

Cost £70 for the 3.

Then went to the House of fraser and got matching bedside lamps - really smart . £4.50 each instead of £15.00.
