It's an epic, but too many authors to make sense, IMO.

Any books you've bought and not read or tomes you have been meaning to but have never gotten around to?

I actually read the Illiad.  It actually is a really good read, though it takes a man ages to die by the time the dark cloud of death finally envelopes him

In fact I was so proud of myself for reading it that I tried to read James Joyce's Ulysses afterwards...a greek tragedy I can make perfect sense of....but a day in a Dubliner's life I can't make head nor tail of

Don't bother... I wish I'd slammed it shut, made me lose the will to live I've bought the LOTR books, but not got round to reading them

I loved the IT film as well although the book is slightly different

He does like to waffle Veggie.  I've seen the film before but everyone says that the book is so much better. I will finish it...one day.

I thought the film was cack, in comparison to the book

I started reading Lord of the Rings in my teens.

I got bored

I was given the trilogy of books a birthday present a few years ago.   They are in pristine condition.   I got bored again.

I've tried the DVD.. I get as far as Bilbo leaving the shire and I'm bored.

I guess it's not my cup of tea.

I do love Harry Potter though... the first one is a kid's book, I read it because of the hype - but the later ones are fabulous.

I loved that book......................one of the few books I've read more than once.

Yes!   I'm not the only person in the world then... sometimes it feels that way.

My daughter would read out parts of the Harry Potter books to me, i could never bring myself to read them, (no real reason)  but loved how they helped her get into reading.

I read the Illiad and Odyssey for pleasure and I had to read Ulysses for my degree. I ended up loving old Leopold
