Saw a couple of babies today
Wee tiny beige and brown birds - think they are garden sparrows? Well, they had two wee babies with them, getting fed some worms - they were all fluffy

Most of the wee baby starlings are managing to feed themselves now
The fattest woodpigeon imaginable appeared today - he was very tame - I managed to get within a few feet of him
Lots of young starlings in my garden, independant of the parents now, noisy and squabbling.Saw the sparrowhawk shooting out of the next doors hedge yesterday, didn't get a kill this time, still fantastic to see though.Pesky magpies have their young squawking about the garden too.Seen blue tits feeding their young, they must lose a lot of their babies, they have pretty large broods but seem to end up with only two to three survivors.
More often than not, since I put up this thread, the weather's been too grotty to catch more than a 'whoosh' a abird dives into the hedge or a tree. No real sustained visible activity.
