I don't see what's wrong with other half. It sounds a bit naff but is actually kind of romantic without being pretentious.

Other Half......yep.......two halves make a whole..........I like it!

Let's make that our winner and force other people to like it against their will just for kicks

I've just been thinking about 'significant other'. That sounds like you have other others who you are messing around with but aren't significant

Hmmm (again. I hmmm a lot). There certainly hasn't been the manic media interest that there was over Diana when she was engaged, maybe because it was more like a shotgun wedding and back then there was no social media so any news and views came from the press. Kate and her beau have been together on and off for yonks and they have received nothing but good press from what I've seen. For example, Kate has lost shed loads of weight and I think is now too thin, had that been Diana twenty years ago there would have been an outcry over it, but nothing has been highlighted as far as I can see.

I think they'll be ok. Hopefully both the Windsors and the media have learned some harsh lessons since the last royal wedding.

Syd brought up the argument of hating the word"Partner". Its up to the individual how they refer to the person the are living with be it Male, Female, Other. Lets see topics on here about " Other"  Am sure some of you have stories to tell.

I agree Karma- but you know how it is, the press always delve deep. We have already had " Meet the Middletons" How long before someting nasty crops up in the press?  I find it really strange we have heard jack shi* from Charles on how proud he is hearing the news of his sons wedding? Like i said, i just hope she is accepted into the royal circle and they both manage to keep it together and make a go of it

He is most probably allowing his son to have 'his' moment with his other half.....
