Difficult to watch in parts but what a fascinating story. He`s a remarkable writer. I don`t know how he managed to do what he did with the amount that he drank but somehow he did. I was glad to see he`s changed his life around. Thanks velvet - it was brilliant.

Couldn't believe it when I stumbled on this wee old gem on the Tube.

Oh, It`s an old one. I wonder if he`s still alive? 

I`m off to google. 

He died in 1990 at the age of 52. 

The vodka and the rest must have taken it`s toll on him. 

An amazing character and intellectual. I want to find out more about him.
