my mums suffering the same thing, but shes 10 years older than you cinds, she been noticing it for a couple of years and its got worse lately. shes trying not to do hrt but she really is suffering with aches and pains too.

  I always joked with mr cinds that the baby we so wanted would come now.  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, it'll be triplets 

My mother was in her 50's when she had hers.  it's the facial hair I am upset about

I've been like that too Cinds...and i am only 37!! have been to docs and they sent me for scans to rule out anything else as my periods have been erratic but verrrrrry heavy when they get here. They said if nowt shows up, then I am probably menopausal. I have awful hot flushes, day and night, dizziness, which is terrible at the moment....my skin is drying out at an alarming rate and I seem to have numerous 'symptoms' of the menopause. Back at docs tomorrow for more news....yipeeeee!!!!!

Hmmmmm yeah if you're 30. 

Your doc can do a blood test which will say if you are on the change or not....

 

I think I'm having that tomorrow...they had to send me for scans cos of my age and the heavy bleeding.

 

I am all of the above...apart from dried up....thankfully!!!! MrB is mighty hacked off at being woken up for sheet changes cos I have major night sweats...which makes him bitchy and sleepy too!!!!!

I couldn't help but notice your thread even though I belong to the opposite camp. Why would anyone avoid HRT ? It sorted out my better half through a difficult time until she discovered red clover.

Garage mums doctor told her to try do without hrt for the cancer risk and because her dad and other family members died of it.

Women seem to have got the bad hand when it comes down to it. Periods, Menopause,Child birth etc: I bow down to all women for being able to cope with all these things. You should rule this planet then maybe we would have less violence/wars  ( Maggie Thatcher is removed from this coz she tried her luck and failed).

I shall avoid as long as possible....my family history of breast cancer is too much to ignore.

Yes! I hadn't considered the cancer risk. During the time m'better half was involved with it we filled a dossier full of articles. One day It was the best thing since sliced bread, the next it was the biggest threat to womankind. And still it continues. I think that the jury is still out.

Then I would invade Belgium and seize its chocolate stockpile.

I've just been to a really gorgeous chocolate place in Wales...their dark choc is fab...and even nearer than Switzerland!!!!!

Oh yes! I'm menopausal...fecking pain in the arse it is. I started having symptoms when I was 44 (peri menopausal) I got blood tests and they showed me hormones were on the fritz!. I took HRT for 6 six years at the age of 46,it was bloody brilliant! However they don't recommend it for any more than that.Now at aged 55 I have  the full hot flushes etc,for years.I asked my doc "How long does the menopause last" she replied "How long is a piece of string"...pfft!

Oh aye and don't mess with me when I have a really bad day.....

 

Can I join in on the invasion?  I'm not that bothered about chocolate, but I do like a nice trip abroad.

I wish it happened just like my niece thought it did.  She got her first period, my sister provided all necessary items.  Period finished, niece gave everything that was left back to my sister thinking that she was done, one period, never ever to have to go through it again

When i explained about periods too my daughter she sat and thought about it for a while then came too tell she had decided she wouldn't bother having them  she wasn't too happy when i told her she didn't have any choice

I went through the menopause at 38. I haven't had a period for 10 years and I can't say I miss them.
