Just started watching it. Andrew Lincoln's usually good in the things he does. According the blurb, it's a hit in America.
Got series 1 saved to watch. It's got seriously crazy reviews, hyped up beyond belief. I'm looking forward to it. Let me know what you think of it.
So far it's good, but might as well be watching 28 Days Later.
what Prom says cause I won't waste the dl unless its good

Except no London, Big Ben and Ray Winstone (actually, someone who looks like him)
Or might as well be watching Dead Set, except no Elstree, Big Brother and Jaime Winstone
Just the guy waking up in hospital, then wandering out in his hospital clothes to find that everyone is dead zombies. Very similar.
Good though!
Day of the Triffids and Survivors had similar opening scenarios..
I watched it when it was on FX before Christmas. It's very, very good...
so is it a bit like Resident Evil?
1st ep very good. Definitely watching next week
Sounds well worth watching from some of the comments here. Thanks for the input folks.
Abo: Resident Evil is a computer game Nobody is going to watch movies inspired by a computer game. They certainly aren't going to watch all of them even though they were very good, I definitely didn't do that
Pretty impressed although nothing new at all so far. Good plot development thought and will watch next week.
As an O/T aside, I finally watched the final episode of "Outcasts", what a dog's dinner of a wasted opportunity that was!
How not to write and image a sci-fi series.
I'm easy to please Carnelian, quite liked V even though I hated most of the characters. How does that work? I don't expect Walking Dead to be different, from what I've read it's just a proven formula done very well. I'm okay with that
Seen a few episodes of the new series of V but as it's on Sky, I watch it every now and then. Seemed ok, if a little disjointed (that's my fault, I'd expect). Generally, I'm not really a fan of current syndicated US sci-fi, especially the recent trend to drench series in fleshing out characters - which still end up remaining unsympathetic and dull - through endless story flow killing flashbacks.
I really liked it and thought it was well acted and I shouted at the telly....can't wait for next weeks....
Zombies... yawn.
If there ever is some catastrophic event that turns half the population into living dead flesh eaters, the rest of us will have already seen so many zombie films and series that we'll know how to handle it easily.
Bored with zombies...Right now zombies, self defeating really .Say they succeed and kill all the living that's left and eat their brains or whatever else part they fancy.Do they then stand around and think,"well what do we do now."

Yup. Then they go and clock on at their jobs at the local council...

I had to record it and watch it in daylight cos I kept dreaming of zombies and scaring myself witless
This show was sooooo good!
Really looking forward to series 2
I've only just put it on, have I missed much?

I love this show but all I have dreamed about all night is zombies.

Say what you like about zombies, but they don't rely on the welfare state to feed them. They don't sit around playing on their X Boxes, waiting for their benefit cheque and pizza deliveries.
No, they show initiative, they go out and look for meat opportunities, they don't expect the meat opportunities to come to them. They don't let red tape and bureaucracy get in their way, if they fancy eating something, they just go for it!
Zombies are the true go-getting entrepreneurs!

Season finale tonight
10pm
We've enjoyed it too. Don't like the fact that the zombies seem to be extremely quick and intelligent with a teamwork vibe but other than that it's good
I like my zombies to stagger about mindlessly droning "Brains, braiiiinnnnssss"
I find it slightly amusing niggle that in the series they refer to THE ZOMBIES as "walkers". You wouldn't, would you? They're zombies! They walk like zombies, are the living dead like zombies, eat human flesh like zombies - they're flippin' zombies!
Unless we're bedridden or in a wheelchair, we all tend to walk around daily, but I don't know about other forum members, but when I'm walking, I never have the urge to find the nearest person and start ripping out chunks of their flesh for my dinner!
