I know that when the police are on duty they are not allowed to purchase in shops....may have something to do with that
If you're after freebies try the Maccy D's in Oldbury - their burgers come with a free caterpillar in the salad

MacDonalds+ Food=oxymoron.
MacDonalds are franchises aren't they?
So I would have thought it was individual to each one as to whether they give freebies away.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I know our main out of town centre one, which is a drive through, is a franchise.
Average price for a MacDonalds franchise is ÂĢ125,000 to ÂĢ325,000 and you have to put up 25% of that yourself (the rest you are allowed to finance by borrowing from the bank etc).
The bloke that has the drive through franchise in our town has made serious money out of it... he's a bit of nob tbh, known for sleezing around nightclubs he is way way way to old too be in, trying it on with girls he is way way way too old to be in Stereotypical open shirt, chest hair & gold medalian... he is more greasy than the burgers he sells. .

Oh yeah?

Okey-dokey, as long as you don't mind your fish with added parasite..
We have fish and chip shops ...............we always give free meals to the police - as a late night opening operation it does no harm to be on good terms with the boys in blue. They don't take the pee and always offer to pay ...............it goes back years - it's something we've always done and my OH's family (who were in the business before us) did the same.
We've always had a really good relationship with our local bobbies ..................a free fish supper goes a long way

the words 'fish supper' sound really cosy lol
Old bill can't buy anything on duty? Eh? I've seen coppers buying sweets and coffee and stuff before now?

Well I always thought it was because the have to be seen to be working whilst they are in uniform & not doing their shopping ..
But it could have just been our boss not being too keen on em
Puts " Full police uniform " on shopping list next time i am on ebay. owt for a free supper.
I thought you couldn't sell alcohol to an on-duty policeman, but I've never heard they can't buy other stuff..... and I've served many a sandwich and drink (non-alcoholic of course) etc to them. And they've paid!
