I have heard that a sudden pain in yer ear can be a symptom of a stroke...not your lobe per se,but deep inner pain.There's a big artery running up there...just to put your mind at rest and that...legs it.
Nah seriously,it's probably nerve pain(neuralgia)I get that on my cheek near my ear at times.The gentler you stroke your face the more painful it is..weird.

Too bleedin' right there are Soozy,I had mine "frozen" when I got them pierced.Dig your nail in hard and see if you go "ouch!"
