I know what you mean Syd but I don't think kids do that sort of thing anymore. Not that I'm 'down with the kids' or anything...

Indeed we can't. it's really terrible that a young 16 year old can't have a boyfriend without the father going mental ...............very, very sad but it happens. and as you say there really is nothing we can do about it!

Syd...it's not all gone. I'm speaking as a hopelessly middle class single parent of two articulate, smart teens - daughter (14) has had one BF (she dumped because he would not have a decent conversation with her - my fail), son not at all bothered at 16. I get all the ins and outs of their mates and it's rather sweet.
