I remember it well. When the flavoured crisps came in ........cheese and onion, swiftly followed by salt and vinegar 9and fast on their heels a whole host ranging from picled onion to tomato sauce) they had an ad with a little Chinese girl saying that 'golden Wonder were her flavourite crisps.'

Prior to that Smiths cornered the market with the original blue bag. Come to think of it i think the Chinese girl used to say 'Smiths are my flavourite crisps'.

i really am a bit of a crisp officionado

I am yeah thanks.  Lost my mother in law 2 weeks ago, so it's been a stressful couple of weeks, but as they say, onwards and upwards.

So sorry to hear that .................it really knocks you for six when you lose a loved and key family member.

I actually prefer both Golden Wonder and Smiths to Walkers but never see them anymore. Walkers are only popular because the quality of crisps in general has actually deteriorated and Walkers are quite acceptable. My all-time favourite cheese and onion crisps were King but I think they were only made in Ireland (though I could be wrong about that).
