Just wondering if we were the only One's to watch this? We watched the first half on catchup before that cold case thing with Trevor Eve. Will do the same tonight. Big fans oft Isherwood and his Berlin observations. Alas it clashed with the killing.

M'phone chose One's instead of ones!
I'd forgotten about that as I've had a very busy weekend. I'll certainly watch it on catch up. Like you Cabaret is my fave film ever - I'm actually fascinated by that era in Germany.
Thanks for the reminder

I've not seen it yet, but I've scheduledit for this afternoon.
Dammit, I meant to watch this.
I watched it and thought it was very good.
I note that some people have suggested they had trouble forgetting Dr Who when watching Matt Smith's performance.
I didn't have any such difficulty because I don't watch Dr Who.
I thought Matt Smith gave a very good performance - he was charming, untrustworthy, funny, posh, and smart.
My only problem was Imogen Poots as Jean Ross (Isherwood's inspiration for Sally Bowles.)
I loved Cabaret on stage - I thought Judi Dench was brilliant; but I hated the film - I thought Liza Minelli was totally miscast.
My difficulty here was that I felt that Imogen Poots was trying hard to be Liza Minelli.
So I found her character jarring.
The rest I loved!

Oh! We really disagree with you Brisket. I'm not a great fan of Lisa but if there was ever a part made for her then that was it. One of the best performances of all time!
Alas! She stinks in everything else!
We were discussing Cabaret earlier and both agreed it to be faultless.
" Cabaret " is on BBC2 tonight. 11.20pm..well it is in Scotland.
