I saw on Google that it would have been Harry Houdini's 137th birthday today. Although he is best remembered as a magician, he did have connections with the film industry. He was close friends with a vaudeville family who toured in the States. Both the father and son were called Joseph. One day the son rell down a long flight of stairs, and got up without injury. Houdini said "That was a real buster!". And that is how Buster Keaton got his name.
Houdini also starred in a handful of silent films. I have his "The Man from Beyond" on tape. He appears as the man who has been encased in ice for a hundred years. This is a link to this film which is on Youtube. I haven't inserted the film in this post in case there is a copyright issue. The film was made in 1921/22, not 1928 as shown on the Youtube title.
The film should be seen as a curiousity, but it could well be the only opportunity to see Houdini in a film.
