a) Gadaffii's assets have already been frozen by the international responses a week or so ago. This money may be used to implement humanitarian responses in the near future I like to think.

b) The Arab League did not ask for our help. They endorsed the mandate that was proposed by the UN. They did ask for a response from the UN and it was 'our' duty, as you put it, to address the issue.

c) Would you please just learn how to spell Libya when it's already been pointed out?

I would have thought the Libyan people might have first claim on his assets, like.


I'm down with wealth being diverted to people who actually need it but you might wanna formulate a better argument to support diverting it out the territory. 

Strictly speaking the money belongs to Libya so no-one has the authority to divert it elsewhere - it'd be like taking the bankers bonuses and giving it to Daily Mail readers.

Yes, I'd vote for the Libyians to get it.

When they have a vote and jobs, they can give as generously as they want to.

Anyhoo, to address the question of the thread. Why only Africa may I ask? Yes I know its Red Nose Day and Africa is strongly highlighted as a country in need, but what about charities that also need attention in the UK?
