Couldn't agree more. Puts things in perspective doesn't it? It's certainly stopped me moaning about the weather. Those poor people ~ my heart goes out to them.

I am watching this now and I agree Zazz. I feel myself going cold watching it... it's awful. Just awful... almost 10,000 people MISSING from a town, suspected as being washed out to sea.... *shudder*

Me too Zazz.. I think this is the worst natural disaster Japan has ever had, and will go down in history like 9/11 did, although that wasn't a 'natural' disaster.
I don't know if its just me, but I'm finding it hard to take it all in. The tv pictures of devastation, the awesome power of nature and the horrendous number of people affected, and yet part of me can't grasp the total awfulness of it all. I just sit watching the pictures, shaking my head in disbelief.

I don't think it's so much Government as the weather maybe carp here, but at least we don't have to fear the extremes.
We are so lucky to live in a democratic country Where we have a say (whether we choose to exercise that right or not). Our climate although it could be better is never too extreme and we don't live in an 'earthqakey' area.
I remember well the one in NE Lincs two or three years ago .......................it did very little damage (apparently measured 5.4) it was scary. Being in a siutation that you had no control over and not really understanding what was happening really wasn't nice. I cannot even begin to imagine what those people must have been feeling and what they are suffering in the aftermath
