Although I hope her intentions were good, I thought the speed of it was inappropriate. People were still dying and she was out there making wristbands for people to wear? Was there no other way of making money for them? I dunno, just didn't sit right with me and all this 'little monsters' crap grates on my norks too.

Would have also been nice if she'd offered to match or double all sales profits. Yes Japan is in trouble but a lot of people, unlike her, are facing financial hardship. Instead of going for the charidee medal of the year award, she could have just donated quietly.

True ..........maybe she thought her own popularity could generate interest ...............not really sure why though TBH. It;s generated horror and sympathy throughout the world - not really sure why she put her own spin on it but .................any donations to this charity has to be good.

This type of thing is in bad taste IMO at this moment when things devastation there is still ongoing. The thought may have been good but Celebs getting involved in this catastrophe at this time without consulting the Japanese govt is a bit premature IMO. Smacks of self- promotion.

Lady GaGa has raised ÂĢ155,000 ($250,000) in just 48 hours for the victims of Japan's recent earthquake and tsunami.

The 'Born This Way' singer designed a Japan prayer bracelet to sell online to raise funds for the natural disaster-stricken country.

The star took to Twitter announce the news. She wrote: "Monsters: in just 48 hrs you've raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief. It's important we help."

The white bracelet has the message 'We Pray For Japan' written on it in red - signifying the country's national flag colours. It also contains GaGa's monster claw symbol that is synonymous with the star.

Other stars who have come forward on Twitter to help raise funds include Justin Bieber, Diddy and Katy Perry, who tweeted: "Remember as you go about your day please #prayforjapan & if you are able, text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to Japan's emergency relief (sic)."
