So, she has inherited her mother's talent for breaking electrical goods.Originally Posted by Karma_:

I'm a bit gutted Karma.. I really did spend 1 and half hours just picking it up and ooohing, then reading the manual.. & ahhing.. I did fire it up.. but it wanted the sim in before it did anything..
robbed!!! most phones will let you have a play without the sim.
I didn't dare put the sim in it.. she'd have known and killed me!
Then I spent half an hour trying to fit everything back into the box the way it was when I opened it
There is a reason I then gift wrapped it.. it keeps the lid on the box.. stops it from springing open from the imperfectly coiled charging cable

I'm mulling over a Blackberry Curve 9300 or HTC Wildfire. I like the idea of a proper qwerty keyboard but not the practicalities of a small screen. Anyone have experience of either?

Nope sorry, I don't Carnelian, but 'bumps' for you and also wonders what's so good about a blackberry. The peeps at work aren't all that enamoured with them I have to say I haven't got one though
Cheers sprooot
I don't get on so well with the on screen keyboards I've used so far, although I've tended to have used bargain basement phones over the last two or three years.

It's quite odd how it happened. I could not decide between a Blackberry or the iPhone. The first shop I went to I asked if the gadjee could explain how the Crackberry worked. I would have got one there and then. He took offence at the term. The rest is history. I love my iPhone !

Everyone to their own Joe, but I wouldn't have an I (whatever) if you paid me

I know what you mean sproooot, I was a quite late adopter but at various times I really don't know what I'd have done without one.
I have to admit since the whole smart phone thing kicked off with the iPhone I've found it a bit more interesting although I can't afford an iPhone and have an axe to grind in Apple's direction, anyway. I'm on my fifth at the moment but it's a very basic Samsung Genio Touch. I like the Genio Touch and it's a great phone for its price, but it's quite basic. Time to move on to more flashy bits of tech!

When I'm at the footie, sat in the north stand, suffering disappointment, trading SMS between my German acquaintances, who meanwhile are sat in the North Stand in a city far far away, I occasionally observe my neighbour/ nachbar who is busily knocking out messages on his crackberry. It looks sheight to be honest.
