Nail on head!!

So until someone taps into writing books about Playstation games such as Call of Duty Black Ops or WWE Wrestlemania, I will probably have to just keep my eyes open for football related ones.

If a 13 year old boy can't enjoy at least one of these authors, then I guess they don't like reading

He does like reading Muf..   cos the three series I mentioned earlier (Goal, Jamie Johnson Series & Football Academy series) .. he couldn't put them down.

James Herbert & Stephen King..   I know he's not ready for them.    Anything that is too descriptive and he will just turn off.      Maybe in a few years.

(also..   I know from when my Sookie Stackhouse audio books have been playing in the car..  he is still at an age (just) where any sexy talk is just gross ...  or so he tells me. - with an "arggghhh Mum... turn this off!")

Oooh.. just seen your Fanfiction link!

I might have been a bit blonde here..    daughter is an avid reader of fan fictions (Harry Potter ones) ... it never occurred to me to look for stuff about different subjects!

Fanfiction is brilliant cos if the storyline is different to how you imagine it then...write your own

On games, I know that Halo, Mass Effect and gods of war have serial novels that you can get in Waterstones

I was reading at a very early age. I'd read most of the Famous Five books before I started infants' school. Reading is such a joy and very good for developing the mind.

Even now, I read at least two books at once. Obviously I get bored easily

And..   he will read the sports section of the paper.
Where do you get the F1 ones? We haven't been able to find any for the last couple of years

That's what prompted me to buy it in the first place. my mum bought the game at a car boot last week - I decided to get the book before we played it as it wouldn't have made an awful lot of sense. I'm looking after him tomorrow so we'll give the game a go

My own personal favorite author as a child was Michael Bond who wrote the Paddington Bear" books. Along with Enid Byltons "Naughtiest Girl" books and the Magic Faraway Tree.

My nieces faves were Dr Suess (particularly The Sneetches and the Two Zax).  Another book that appealed to their lavatorial humour was The Story of the Little Mole who knew it was none of his business.

My nieces loved that one too.  They loved getting the letters out of the pockets on each page.

You've obviously got very neat kids.
