My local Woolworths banned that single so we all went up town after school to buy it just so we could get refused and laugh at them for being so small minded
First album I bought with my own money was The Black Album by the Damned, brand new off a mate. I taped it and flogged it on
First I bought from a shop was New Hope for the Wretched by the Plasmatics which I had to order from a la'al record shop in town. It came on "vomit vinyl" and I is still got it

The first single I bought was Woodstock by Matthews Southern COmfort, and the first album I bought was the first Black Sabbath album. I've still got them both .

First record I ever bought was a second hand 78" of Johnny Ray singing Just Walking in the Rain it cost 2d at a white elephant stall at a school jumble sale
I think the first 7" I bought was Sugar Baby Love by the Rubettes and first album was The Jam's In The City I wasn't really into albums

Now I'm on m'PC I can see the full title! I can't remember the first single I bought. I can remember my Dad buying the first gramophone record player along with Shirley Bassey singing/shouting "Climb every mountain!" Shirley Bassey eh? You have to have worried about him.
First single was Donny Osmond's "Puppy Love". First album was also a Donny one.

Nothing to do with Wendy O Williams, that purchase?

7 - Going Underground - The Jam
12 - Return of the Los Palmas 7 - Madness
LP - Ska n B - Bad Manners
*LP's as i recall were very much luxury items that i only got for my birthday or at Christmas... or maybe if available in a bargain bin.
My first vinyl purchases after leaving school were almost certainly by The Style Council.

Garry Glitter's greatest hits.
I'm less enamoured by his latest releases.

Stoory, I cannot stand the Pretenders. She's a weidro, her voice is horrible, but somehow, they decided to have a night out and make a record.
