Problems with the Youtube player

Today I have found that I have been unable to play Youtube clips when I have been on the Youtube site. Youtube clips already posted on this forum seem to be working OK. I've been looking at the Youtube help forum and have found this thread created today by them and it looks as if this is a new widespread problem affecting many browsers.

For me the problem seems to be when I use Firefox, Internet Explorer seems to work OK. The thread had given various ways to clear up the problem, but I found that if I cleared the cache on Firefox that the Youtube clips do now work.

To clear the cache on Firefox, select Options from Tools, then select the Advanced tab. Then click on Click Now, then OK. Come out of Firefox, then come back into Firefox, and hopefully, the Youtube player will be working.

Apparently its because Firefox does not automatically update installed plugins, whereas Chrome & IE do.

So, its a case of updating Flash.

or changing your browser!

I am already using the recently updated Flash player and now I have cleared the browser cache, Youtube is working OK. I posted this thread in case anyone else finds they have problems.

I've seen another thread on the Youtube help forum and it seems that this problem has arisen for Firefox users as a result of the recent update to Flash player - this update has only happened in the last few days.

I always use IE on youtube but it wasn`t working for me today.

I changed to my chrome browser and it was fine.
