Ahh I used to love going oout on Paddys day but haven't bothered since the kids came along. We just used to wear some sort of green and then feel a bit silly when 10 of us headed out in various shades of green which suited maybe one of the 10.  Was usually good craic though but these days it's all about boozing and fighting.

I always loved dressing my kids for St Patrick's day they always got new clothes and their obligatory St Patrick's day badge we  always went to mass then the parade,now it's the grand kids and still a family day, main focus the kids.

Lee when I was growing up my aunt always sent us shamrock from Ireland/Dublin in a little green and white box 

hi Marge....I remember those little boxes,my gran used to send shamrock to family in England ,I can see them now as clear as day.We always had shamrock to wear and a badge/medal ,I still wear shamrock every year,tradition is to drown your shamrock in a glass of whatever you're drinking at the end of the day.
