Been at it for years and no problems. The one thing to look out for with any internet money dealings is the little padlock symbol. This is a good sign that the site is secure, and some banks have an additional system to verify you are the account holder before you can do any transactions.
The bank i am thinking of using is Barclays- seems to have all i need. Can you see if this is a safe banking option for me.

I have been doing internet banking for years and I have Avast and a free firewall as well, I reckon the free internet download security programmes are as good as anything you can buy, my computer repair guy swears by them and he should know.  Also look out not only for the padlock symbol but that the internet site address has hpps and not just hpp.

I use it all the time - no problems yet *touch wood* Which building society are you with? Do they not do Internet banking too? I'm with Nationwide and they do... excessive security at times, have to use my keypad thing to do any transaction, which is a pain if I want to pay 4 bills at once or summat, but I suppose it's good they're thinking about security

I have a random number to log in with then additional security password which has to be numbers and letters.,,,mine is 11 characters long and they ask for 6 random characters...that's RBS..,,I have managed to lock myself put before...damn caps lock.,,and had to phone the security centre to get it reset..,they wanted to know so much info as well as the security question befor they reset it. Any online purchases have to go through online security password checks again.

I've used internet banking for years without a problem... current account, savings, three credit cards, mortage, the whole shebang.    Only problem I ever had was when I left my debit card in the chip and pin in the Co-op.    I foolishly didn't report it (because I phoned as soon as I got home and was told the young lad on the till had handed it into customer services) and two weeks later there was ÂĢ30 on it for an American online gaming site, so the little scrote had obviously taken the numbers before he handed it in!    Got the money back with one phone call though.  I couldn't be assed with having to go into a bank again.
