They were lucky to get out of the USA alive after their road trip there a while back. They had painted insults on the side of their vehicles which were offensive to those towns they visited.

That was one of the funniest ones I've seen closely followed by the one where they had to put 2 cars together and take a celebrity to an awards show.

[RANT]  Top Gear used to be a brilliant show.  They'd take a car out on the road, give it a bit of welly show you what it could do on inclines and it's breaking capabilities etc, and it could be anything from a Nissan Micra to a Audi A4.

Then some bright spark took it upon themselves to change it from a really interesting car magazine show to some pile of tripe with over inflated egotistical nerds giving their tuppence worth and doing bizarre random things, like turning a perfectly working car into a remote control one   And every series is dotted with reviews of the latest thing they've done with a Bugatti Veyron .  Come on lads, show some imagination get back to reviewing regular cars of all price ranges!

Clarkson and Hammond knew exactly the hoo-haa their comments would create and they cracked on anyway like silly little school boys.  I think giving them attention is like giving a child attention when they throw a tantrum, it only eggs them on.

Like I say, get back to reviewing cars! [RANT]

Thank you cologne, I've been dying to get that out of my system for ages

To be fair, kattymioww, Stephen Fry usually betters every guest. I've been surprised just how knowledgeable Clarkson is and his contributions to QI have made me realise his Top Gear persona is a bit dumbed down.

That's exactly it.  Clarkson knows so much about cars.  When he does a review, he usually does a very intelligent one.  He's no fool...so why do they churn out this trash tv.  I don't get it .
