No.    I walk about 40 mins a day, but that's about it.  I suppose it isn't bad, and more than some do.  I haven't exercised much lately as I have been off work for a while as I sprained my ankle before Christmas, and I've been as lazy as eff.  I have been off work for a number of weeks now (about 6) as I had flu as well in early Jan and my workplace was shut  for 2 weeks for Christmas anyway.  I go back next week as the doc has written me as fit for work again.  So my life will go back to not having enough time to scratch my backside half the timeAnd hopefully I can get back into exercise.

I keep promising myself to start running, but somehow its too cold to run in the winter, then its too hot to run in the summer

Run in the spring and autumn then

up your game, power walk round campus while carrying tins of beans,Charli!

We don't have baked beans in America (well I haven't seen any anyway) but I'll definitely power walk starting tonight

(But surely two/three textbooks on my back could substitute?!)

  1. 1

Stand on top of your step with legs hip width apart and back straight. The heel of both feet should be off the step, with just the balls of your feet on the step.

  2. 2

With legs slightly bent, lower both heels towards the ground as far as you can. To keep your balance, either hold on to the banister lightly with one hand (if you are using a staircase), or keep your arms out to the sides, if you are using an aerobic step.

  3. 3

Slowly come up to starting position and repeat the movement. Keep the motion controlled so that you are forcing the calf muscles to do the work and keep you balanced. Repeat the exercise five to ten times and take a break. Work up to three sets of ten.

  4. 4

For an added challenge, as your heels come up toward the starting position, continue the movement upward and raise your heel as high as you can until you are almost on your tiptoes. This is using the full range of motion of the calf muscles and will tire the muscles more quickly.

No

Having said that I don't stop from getting up at half six until about 9pm ...although my job is sedentary ...as soon as I get home it's shopping and washing and getting supper sorted and malking up packed lunches and ferrying kids about and yada yada yada. I'm too knackered to "exercise". Though I hate exercise per se. I'd rather do something active like walking or dancing or gardening than a dvd.

Spongey I was the same, lost a stone and a half in a few months then the bad weather came and I stopped going to weigh in and didn't walk to collect the kids as much (got the OH to do it) and it was creeping back on so I've been braving the cold and going to get them everyday and taking hte long way home and it feels great.  I'm nearly at the 2stone loss and just need to up the exercise more now and try to get back to the healthy eating which seems to be my hurdle
