Lal I always thought I would go for a gas hob, as I've always used gas, but theses ones just look so sleek.

Ditty I didn't know that about the limitations with pans, this might affect the decision making OR mean I have to get all new pans too

Choose the one which is easiest to clean.
Always easy to clean, make him do it

I do love it...  but it is a bitch to clean.       I looked at induction hobs...  but was put off by the limitations (not all pots & pans will work on an induction hob)...

I was just going to say about not all pans being suitable for an induction hob but you beat me to it I have a ceramic one too, and it's a bastard to keep clean... I usually get mam to do it when she visits

Cinds...    go for gas!

The ceramic & induction ones may look nice when they have just been cleaned or are brand spanking new...  but they don't look so good the rest of the time.

one tiny splash of water (say if you are filling a mug from the kettle or something)...   on the hob, its not just a case of get kitchen roll & wipe it off. ...  that wipe will leave a smear .... try & shift the smear and it suddenly becomes a hob wide smear...   So imagine the carnage after cooking a meal on it.

Its a proper effort to do mine..   I use Kleeneze Astonish or Doktor Power and clean like I am a housewife from the 1950's scrubbing me front doorstep!

I'm gonna look for them next time I'm in Asda, see if they're better than what I have now.... I get the 1950's housewife thing, my arm aches after about 5 mins, and it usually looks no better

Thinking about it, if I could choose, I'd probably go for gas

I love Doktor Power..

they do a big block of sponge as well..   you just cut a bit off and splash a bit of water on it..    and it says it will remove most marks off walls, tiles, trainers... everything..

I didn't beleive it would...   it was just like a bit of packing from a parcel.... no suds.... no cleaning fluid that I could smell or feel on it...  but it does work!

Its not as good as the stuff in the pot for doing the hob though
