Gypsie I've seen The Sound of Music more times than I can count and the last scene gets me every time - I can't listen to Climb Every Mountain without welling up

Doris is wonderful and she is still going strong - I beleive she is in her late Eighties now and heavily involved in animal welfare. There was recent documentary about her on Bio channel I think it was.
I saw that Miss S. She is, as you say, wonderful.

Just to keep it bumped
A real classic ........................

Love the fiddler.
I love Fiddler! TRADITION!!!
A good friend of mine played the matchmaker (and she was brilliant). I nearly wore out the video we have, then then the VCR packed it in. I really need to get a DVD to watch.
I always cry when the daughter goes to Siberia.

kay thats it a weekend in that london town is called for.
yay another fiddler, wahoo One of the guys i worked with was a secret fiddler too, he would inform me of when and where and we would sneak off to see it.
The only "Musicals" I like are "THe Rocky Horror show" and the" Blues Brothers"..the rest are pish.
My son would cringe every time I put a musical on the telly (even if I promised not to sing along). Then he happened upon Guys and Dolls! Oh, and every time I put on Into the Woods - he was there!
I think the world would be a much better place if we all sang and danced a bit more!

I'll second that,
and of course we have a 'new' musical.

Oh yes!
Oh yes!
When I take me elterns out for a Sunday afternoon drive the car is full of happy singing people. Elaine Paige is very popular.
Otherwise, Cabaret aside, I don't like 'em
Just arrived back from my overnighter in London. Went to see Love Never Dies and I promised a review!
I'm just so glad that I didn't read all the reviews beforehand. It got an absolute panning by the critics
I simply loved it! I was never really bowled over by Phantom and didn't have high expectattions for this show (the tickets were a gift). I thought it was sensational ...............although there were probably only two or three really good numbers the set, staging, costumes and storyline were wonderful - as were the cast. I was totally mesmerised from beginning to end - it's a mixture of 'art noveau', 'gothic' and'burlesque' all rolled into one and yet it all worked so well together. The little boy 'Gustav' played a fantastic part and the Phantom (forget his real name for the mo) was superb!
Unfortunately my husband was a little unwell last night and this morning (not alcohol induced) - he suffers now and the with diverticulitis so we didn't get to go to the National Gallery and British museum as we planned today - I also felt a bit of a pig stuffing my face on afternoon tea and a gorgeous blue cheese burger at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen whilst he just nibbled (so unlike him and such a shame).
Good food, good wine a great show and all in all a fantastic evening!

It was simply divine - if you think that sounds rank (poorly as he was) my husband went for the Buffalo Burger He's a game old bugger!
