I save v little. When my lappy crashed last year and I lost all of my music etc. ('cos I didn't have it backed up!) my fella loaded his music on to this new one from his external hard drive, (awaits pun!).....Christ if I live to 100 I'll never be able to listen to it all...one of these days maybe I'll have a month or so free with nothing better to do than go through it and delete what I don't want!
The ONLY thing i keep when reformating is photos/video footage of the kids and family, everything else can be downloaded again if ever needed again

I'm just a hoarder.. full stop,
As a tip! It would appear that one can't load stored MP3 files into iTunes! I uploaded loads and then discovered that they don't work.
I have had to reconvert the MP3 back to audio.
The iPod has it's own system of backing up to DVD. Ten of 'em at the moment.
I'm sure a lot of you know this, but just I'm case.............
It's all been trial and error so far.
Nope, I do a clean up of my lappy every week or so, so any films I've d/l'ed and watched get deleted and I don't download music because I just make playlists on we7.

Most of that is double dutch to me (am I allowed to say that, or could it be construed as racist to our friends in the Netherlands?) ....BUT what I do bleedin' well know is if your computer crashes you loose every soddin' thing that you've uploaded onto your i-tunes other than what you've directly bought from them
No no no! Remind me on soops. You can back everything up.

Yeah but how do you remember what it was to download if ever needed again? See? It's not that simple is it?

YES,YES,YES...unless you've got it on discs/ an external hard drive that you can reload you've lost the bleedin lot!
Fairy snuff then.
I'm probably more obsessive than yer average FM then mind, though but.
*looks down at 3 external hard drives and then over at shelf after shelf of burned backup CDs*

If i ever think "Oh that programme would be good for this task" etc then i go search for it and d/l
As for movies, tv shows and music i tend to stream it all from youtube and other such sites as and when i need it
Oh yes, and a bit cautious over back ups. Four external hard drives mostly with recorded TV and a PVR filled to the brim and all music on external hard drives backed up on another hard drive. I do keep things with the ambition of watching them again but often have things stored for many months before I watch them. I don't like cluttering up the PC internal drive with music and video either. Mostly given up on recordable DVD +/- RW as I've had little luck with DVD recorders.
