Anyways... back on topic...

I know a couple of kids with "unusual" names...  that I really like now..   actually I have just realised that the boy is no longer a boy and a full grown man ( don't time fly)... he is called Blue...  but it really suits him.   It always has suited him.

The other is a girl ( *thinks*...  yep still a girl) called Seven.   And again... it really suits her.

(& Yes...  her father named her Seven after Seven of Nine from Voyager)

I can't quote but if I may correct one of the above posts.
With reference to the musician of our times, registered names were................
Moon Unit.
Ian Donald Calvin Euclid.
Ahmet Emuukha Rodan.
Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen.

: pedantic :
They wouldn't register the name Dweezil, and thus he wasn't allowed to call him that. But they did anyway.

So if you want to call your kid minge ahad, just do it.

And there was me thinking that unusual names only exist in fiction
Charli...   there seems to be a quest amongst the parents of my generation to have children with unique names...  there are some right corkers out there.

I always giggled at a kid in Alfs primary school.....  it didn't help that he was a pain in the backside, and looked a lot like Plug from the Bash Street Kids, and he was called Storm.

Of course it was your fault.

My name is ten a penny (Sue) so I was keen to choose less popular names for my children without them being too wierd. So my son is Max - and the only Max in his school - and daughter is Lydia. There are two other Lydias though.

The thing is you can do that and then the name becomes very popular. My friend called her son Joshua before it was popular - it was familiar but unusual. When he was a few months old U2 brought out The Joshua Tree and by the time he strated school he was in a class full of Joshuas.
