I'd spend the chocolate money at Hotel Chocolat, and a bit on Thornton's alpini!

Well done Jen  5lb is mahooooosive weight loss!  You don't mean you lost that in a week did you? That would be dangerous for your health

I'm on a low carb type diet and puff and pant a bit on my treadmill most days. Am currently under 11 stone and aiming to get closer to 10... by... ummm... end of year-ish?

Thanks for reviving this thread, was wondering where it had gone to

Oh thanx barney I'd heard of the cubs on fb but not the other one, i'll look it up

Rog that is indeed in one week, i was full of cold when i weighed last week and had put 2.5lb on, i didn't really know where it had come from but with this weeks result i'm now assuming it was a lot to do with the cold now being gone.  Well done on how well you've done  I'm too tall and shall we say 'curvy' to look ok at 11st, my target is 12 and when i was at it i felt about right.

Thanks Jen. You must be very disciplined to lose the other 2.5lbs though, so well done back!!!

I'm only 5 foot 5, but without being fat, always had a chunkyish build - my normal younger weight was 9 ... so 10 is my new aim. Its not so much the weight but the healthy aspect too... its good to have a diet/fitness thread to compare our progress. I had a pact with a diet / fitness buddy online, but he said recently he hadn't exercised for weeks [ apart from lugging 20 cans of strongbow back from Tesco  ]  and had just ordered himself a Dominos.

Taking care of a house and kids is heavy duty exercise Jen!  You'd have no energy for anything else!!!

Meat or chicken with spinach, and frozen fruit and cream for afters probably. Atkins / a ketogenic diet suits me, as you can eat any amount you like as long as its lowish carb food. I'm not great at portion control + prone to a midnight snack you see...

So today was a little unusual, we decided to go out to eat at a carvery for lunch, i hadn't had breakfast and have only really had a couple of cereal bars and fruit all day since as my huge no holes (should that be holds?) barred meal plus my pint (I didnt drive back ) made me  feel really bloated... I'd forgotten how much a meal 'off plan' made me physically feel when i had been really good.. I actually needed an afternoon nap! lol

I find my life makes it very hard to keep to any healthy eating plan and even worse to get any exercise - although I do walk quite a bit and regularly do over 6000 step per day.

That's pretty good EC ... they say just doing little things helps, like walking places + taking the stairs instead of the lift etc.

I have a cheapo manual treadmill, with a home-made shelf at the front to rest the lappy on. It's also positioned right in front of the tv. Combining faffing with keeping fit, lol !!

Today I have been for a very long walk, my phone tells me that I have completed nearly 12,000 steps. The beauty of Sheffield is that it is built on seven hills, so the town centre goes up and down albeit less steeply.

I popped into M&S and bought a basic salad and two pots of specialist salads pots, they will be my tea. I have also bought a box of red seedless grapes for later in the evening.

Can you type on the laptop while walking Roger?

Yes EC, the treadmill belt is at an uphill angle - so the walking pace is quite slow and steady, though still quite a workout. I made a shelf fing at just the right height where I can type and sort of hold on for stability at the same time.

It's a most ingenious contraption... look out for me on Dragon's Den...
