I`m not sure velvet but after a 30 yr friendship they should have told him what they were going to do before he read it in the press.
I don`t know why he was standing for Solidarity anyway - he`s opposed to independence.

Another odd thing - Gail`s announced that she`s standing but as far as I`ve read, it hasn`t been approved by Solidarity yet.
