Did you know that Unilever bought Pears and changed the recipe of Pears' soap?
They changed it from 7 natural ingredients (including Rosemary and Thyme) to 24 chemicals.
Did you know that following a campaign on Facebook they amended the forumla, although it is still not back to the original?
Did you know that Pears' soap is the oldest continuously existing brand in the world? (Registered in 1789.)

An article in today's Guardian:-

I loved the original Pears soap.
I don't understand why they changed the recipe - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Did you know they now do a Pears handwash?

Nope ... didn't know any of that brisket; but did you know that I have a genuine pears print - '1904 musicians'.

I liked Pears but couldn't use it (or any other soap) now. You come out of the bath or shower with skin like a lizard

I remember that soap. Its funny, i dont buy soap at all anymore. i like it when it first comes out of the box but then it ends up in a slimy mess. Everything i buy now comes in liquid form.

Liquid soap is akin to witchcraft IMO. Particularly in hotel chains. I always take a bar with me !

My mum bought some *Simple soap* once and when my dad had a show he left the soap on the window sill that was painted and it took the paint off

dad wrote a letter of complaint and they sent him a box full of the bliddy stuff

if it does that too paint, what does it do too your face

I'm using L'occitane Bonne Mere soaps in my bathroom at the moment.

I used to love Pears soap, but for the last 15 years I haven't used anything but Dove, it smells fantastic on your skin PLUS (and this is the big plus) it doesn't leave your skin feeling dehydrated. In fact, I only use Dove soap, deodorant and body moisturiser.

I always loved Pears soap and was (sadly!) thrilled to find out they did a handwash now. When it comes to showering though I'm with karma and cinds (literally) Won't use anything but Dove and when it's on half price offer (which is surprisingly often) I get about six bottles a time with my shopping, cos I'm stingy like.
