I can't stand Turkish Delight, it's bloody RANK!
Former Member
Karma, the frys one with the chocolate round it l like, but the real turkish delight with the powder over it. YUK! Its like washing up liquid. And yes I have tasted it... don't ask me why. I'm just weird.
Former Member
Why Croc? Do you think it feels like eating bird shit?
Its just rank...and i agree about the Turkish delight...the rose or lemon stuff is like eating congealed talcum powder.
Have any of you ever tried stuff from L'Artisan du Chocolat? They do tobacco flavoured chocolate and all sorts of weird stuff like that but it's gawwwwjus
No Karma - never tried that ... but on your recommendation I just might

No Karma, I haven't tried any of them. And yes Croc, the real turkish delight is like eating wet bog roll and talcum powder!

OMG
It looks like a work of art ... I will not place an order, I will not place an order, I will not ... oh help
They're a bit pricey but well worth it Plus cos the chocolates are so rich you can't polish the whole lot off in one go so they'll last at least an hour. Result!
I was just looking...a bit pricey??
I'll stick to Thorntons thanks.

Sounds lovely
I bought a load of king scallops from the fishmonger today, so we had them with champ, black pudding and a hot red onion marmalade-y sauce.
Sounds revolting but it was bloomin' scrummy.

Do you know, we dont have a decent fishmonger here at all, which being on the south coast i find hard to believe. We have one local crappy one, with hardly any fish tesco it is!

I live on the south coast too but I do believe you..!
It's ridiculous just how bad it is for fish given the location.
All the more depressing is if you go along to Hastings (no man on earth goes by choice btw) and you'll see queues of day trippers outside the fish huts in the old town. What the silly wotsits don't realise is, is that they passed a lorry coming out of London delivering the so-called 'local' fish..!
We're lucky that further along towards Beachy Head is one of the best suppliers in the South. And it's local unless otherwise stated.
I'VE MADE HOMEMADE TOMATO SOUP TONIGHT, sorry about the headers, didn't mean to shout. Anyhoo, toms, garlic, onions and beefstock. It's been simmering for several hours, into the processor, done and very tasty.

They are! And they last ages. (Well, depends on your definition of ages I suppose). But even the smaller boxes for 20 quid or so are still ace, and like I said, they're more like a delicacy cos the chocolate's so rich that you can't just wolf down the lot - no matter how much PMT is on the go We had some a couple of months back and I'm getting my son some for his birthday, I wouldn't spend that type of money on chocolate unless it was for an occasion or summat.
