I really really hate spoken and written slang.  I remember about 6 months after I moved to Newcastle with my (then 3 year old son) and I said to Mr Cinds, "I don't mind if he gets the accent, but I do no wan't him to get the slang"

Imagine how much Mr Cinds (being Newcastle born) laughed his head off when one afternoon driving to the store my son said something and I asked him what he meant and his reply was 'I divven nah'
