Haven't read back but ..............trousers are outer wear for both men and women. With regard to underwear - men wear pants - women wear knickers, That's how I see it anyway!

I call me trousers 'trousers', but underpants, presumably, came from being under yer pants, so maybe it's old English. (no emphasise on 'old', at all, really, honest )

I call trousers, trousers. Although they are also known as breecks in Scotland, and my English hubby sometimes calls them kecks.

Trousers are trousers although i wear jeans  jeggings and leggingspants are underwear - i call them  knickers - Ditty - yes Ski pants - wore them as well

Grundies is what we called wedgies when I was at school  (as in..   pulling someones pants/knickers/undercrackers right up their bum crack....   "giving someone a wedgie/grundie)

I've just realised I'm not a fan of the word "panties" - it has to be right up there with gusset.

panties....   creepy old word

gusset....  funny comedy word...  but not one you should use when trying to be alluring!
