Pork sausage meat, prunes soaked in brandy and leeks and garlic fried in butter and black pepper. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm simply divine.

I googled and then did a bit of this one bit of that one .....................very nice. Don't think they're gonna last long .........my husband is in ecstasy and keeps sneaking out to the kitchen - another batch tomorrow I think.

I couldn't agree more. (Other than picnics) sausage rolls are a bit naff IMO .............I even think they can be a bit lame at Christmas - these ones are quite heavenly though. I did them in puff pastry but think I'll do another batch in short crust.
Actally I think it'd make a nice stuffing mix too! (Just tyeing it in to your other thread).

Home made are far nicer Crispy
I love savoury pastries - but don't eat meat so am kinda limited for options (only so much cheese n onion filling can be consumed in one lifetime).
My MIL will have five hundred prepared for Christmas. Tis tradition, apparently!
