It may be tinnitus, hopefully it has eased off. Nothing worse.
Might be due to tension of any sort.

Tinnitus. Mine's like running water most of the time. When it first started I used to be able to hear a buoy clanging in the distance occasionally, but I haven't heard that for a while now.
It's not really known what actually is the source of the noise, but the reason for mine starting is apparently because of nerve damage caused by radio-therapy treatment as a child.

Best get it checked Stonks, could well be just a build up of earwax, which can make you feel dizzy and hear your heartbeat, Dont worry

Sounds to me like you're hearing your pulse. May just be caused by waxy ears, but get it checked out, OK?

Then I'd get a blood pressure check, just to be safe.

Wax may not be obvious from the outside if it is deep inside your tubes 

OK here's one for you. In my right ear I can hear what sounds like an electrical pulse, I only hear it at night time and it doesn't matter where I am. What's that?
